C O B A L T’s architect and administrator, Tony Passarello, is a permanent Mexico resident of 15 years, recently moved to Guadalajara from Ajijic. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, and educated at the University of Miami, Florida, his career relocated him to cities including Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, San Antonio, Baltimore, Nashville, and Little Rock.
Now retired, his professional career as a marketer includes roles as CMO at national retailers, as an officer at global advertising agencies, and as the founder and managing director of his own consulting firm. His work as CMO for a Dallas start-up produced a three-time Inc. 500 enterprise.
He is the grandson of Appalachian migrants and Italian immigrants, the son and nephew of card-carrying union members, and a lifelong politically progressive voter who has studiously avoided Democratic Party bureaucracy and factionalism.
He is also the author of four books of fiction – two of them set in Mexico – as well as a travel blog… all under the pen name Antonio Ramblés. His past activism includes creating and managing communications for public agenda initiatives including:
(In the U.S.):
- Campaign for reform of EPCOT (Texas electric grid)
- Referendum to revoke Dallas ‘dry laws’.
- Campaign communications for a Dade County Commission candidate while a university student.
(In Mexico)
- Activist campaign for dissident fraccionamiento owners
